Doing Taxes

We have just completed our tax form submissions and one question we was concerning disability insurance and whether that was tax deductible under the medical and insurance allowance. To me it should be as it is medically related, however, it was not explicitly specified. Sometimes tax forms can be a real pain especially when the instructions are not clearly spelt out!

Tuxedo Hunting

My cousins from overseas were recently in town and the older boy was telling me about his prom and party nights. He actually thought of getting a nice tuxedo to see him through these events and asked if there were any shops around that sold it cheaper. However, I found that tuxedos here seem to be harder to find compared to overseas countries. Could it be because there are fewer black tie functions here or do people just tailor their own?

Furniture in Your Porch

I saw that Ikea recently added some outdoor furniture collections to their range of furniture. While they look really comfortable and rustic with their wicker finish, I do wonder if they will be suitable for our weather here which tends to be hot and humid. If they have not been conditioned properly, they will be spoiling and warping in no time at all!

Go Green

Do you still use gift cards when you give someone a present? They used to be really popular when I was a student but seems to have lost some appeal now as people get into the "green" environmentally friendly focus towards saving the Earth. If you want to go green, consider recycling paper to make your own gift tags instead of buying them!

Timber Floors

I love wood flooring. When I was living in Australia, I realised most of the houses there had wood flooring and some had inbuilt heaters underneath the floors. I find that it gives the house a really nice and warm feeling compared to tiled floors. Somday if I have my dream house its definitely going to have timber strip floorings :)

Detoxifying Process

I heard the late Princess Diana used to be fond of using colon cleanse products to help her detoxify and lose unwanted pounds. However, I can't imagine how it works and what an uncomfortable process it must be! It does seem to be catching on in UK and some other Asian countries like Japan however I haven't really come across many centres offering this treatment locally. Have you?

CineBus in Korea

I was busy most of the weekend watching a Korean drama series! One of the romantic things the guy in the movie did for his fiancee was to rent a CineBus which was a huge bus built like a travelling cinema with pop corn and home theater furniture! I wonder if such buses really exist in Korea. I would so love to see one and experience watching a movie in a moving bus!
